Multi-Chem & The Insanity Of Letting The Frackers Do It Again

Multi-Chem | Halliburton | Fracking | MultiChem

Last year Frac King Multi-Chem sold out to Halliburton after they blew up their own blending plant in New Iberia LA. Now over in Vermilion Parish, they’re breaking ground on their next Ground Zero.

>> Blend <<

Frac King Multi-Chem blends oil & gas production chemicals such as viscosity reducers, wetting agents and “biocides” – toxins whose sole purpose is to kill living organisms.

Multi-Chem describes itself as “the global leader in EGR” – where EGR stands for Enhanced Gas Recovery technologies such as hydraulic fracture stimulation, also called hydraulic fracturing, known and loathed by many of us as “fracking”, but referred to by dirty energy insiders as simply “frac”. Prior to its acquisition by Halliburton last October, being a frac specialist – with an extensive network of storage facilities and a fleet of frac trucks filled with ecosystem-destroying amalgams of toxic frac fluids and poisonous frac additives – made Multi-Chem one of the largest oil & gas production chemical companies in the world. Their “success” had little to do with any questionable claims they “Think Safety”.

>> Blast <<

On 14 June 2011 the Multi-Chem blending plant in New Iberia LA was rocked by a series of explosions that filled the skies with huge fireballs, thick black smoke and deadly toxins.

“Louisiana state police and Iberia Parish emergency management officials said the first blast was reported about 4 p.m., followed by several more explosions. The plant is near the Acadiana Regional Airport, which was shut down as a precaution… ‘It was a big explosion, I mean a big one,’ said Odis Lounsberry, who was in his front yard near the plant. He said several smaller blasts followed… Lounsberry, who said he is an inventor by trade, said he got a bad taste in his mouth after feeling drops of a liquid hit him… ‘It was like a bitter taste, just a foul taste,’ he said… Mary Celeste Clement, a children’s book author, lives about 2 miles away and said she evacuated to Lafayette after she saw smoke pouring from the plant… ‘I packed my bags and left,’ she said. ‘I didn’t want to take the chance.’

>> Pollute <<

The “accident” at the Multi-Chem blending plant in New Iberia released xylene, methanol and toluene into the environment requiring evacuation of everyone within a 1-mile radius.

“The chemical fire burned nearly 24 hours before it was deemed safe for hazardous-material firefighters to extinguish it… The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality has maintained its monitoring presence on the site, and containment ditches used to capture run-off from the incident have been cleared and verified free of contaminants, stated Rodney Mallett, a DEQ spokesman in an email response… The response now moves from an ’emergency response phase’ into a ‘remediation phase,’ Mallett stated. Multi-Chem stated that it will work with the DEQ to develop a ‘comprehensive plan to analyze the effects [on] the subsurface.’ About 20 people work at the site, which includes a chemical storage facility, blending plant and office building.”

>> Repeat <<

Now part of Halliburton, Multi-Chem is breaking ground on a new facility south of I-10 between Maurice and Indian Bayou to replace the New Iberia plant they blew up.

“The chemical company Multi-Chem, recently bought by Halliburton, is building a new facility in Vermilion Parish. This new location off highway 92 will have an office, field laboratory and blending facility on 64 acres of land [http://goo.gl/maps/oRDe]. Multi-Chem said it will eventually replace the New Iberia facility [that was destroyed in an “accident” last year]… Construction is still in the very early stages, but there might not be much that residents can do because there are no zoning restrictions in Vermilion Parish… ‘They can locate next to a residential area because we don’t have zoning in our parish,’ explained Police Jury President Nathan Granger.”

>> Insanity <<

The Multi-Chem plant being built in Vermilion Parish will blend a witch’s brew of deadly toxins right on top of Chicot Aquifer, Southwest Louisiana’s sole freshwater source.

Letting the same people do the same thing over and over again expecting different results is one definition of insanity, and nobody is aware of the implications here more so than mental health professional Marcella Manuel. She lives half a mile away from what could be Multi-Chem’s next Ground Zero, and is determined to evict them before their next toxic blending bungle forces her to evacuate. Ms. Manuel, a licensed practical counselor in Maurice LA, has founded Citizens Against Multi-Chem (citizensagainstmultichem@gmail.com) to alert environmental groups, warn those living in Vermilion, Acadia and Lafayette parishes of the imminent threats to their water supply and public safety, and organize an effective multi-front resistance.

>> Epilogue <<

If you’re a proponent of depopulation, then perhaps the present population of the Cajun Oil Patch and their potentially pollution-mutated progeny are as good a starting point as any. Otherwise, consider this:

Like BP and Halliburton, in the ruthless pursuit of dirty energy and pollution profits Multi-Chem has already done irreparable harm to ecosystems in Louisiana, across America and around the globe. And in return for the now fleeting prospects of cheap gas and steady paychecks, we’ve let them get away with it for years. We must stop this insanity, and we must stop it NOW. If not us, then WHO? If not now, then WHEN? And if not for ourselves then for our grandchildren, who’ll be spitting on the toxic earth we’re buried in if we don’t.

Owned & Operated + The Point & Why We Must Get To It

Owned & Operated

OWNED & OPERATED (by Crackin Films)

The traditional Left/Right, Liberal/Conservative, Democrat/Republican dichotomy is a false and failing paradigm propagated by the powers-that-be to perpetuate division. The true political spectrum is not a straight line but a circle: There is a point where Far Left meets Far Right, where Anarchism merges with Libertarianism and these and the rest of our outmoded labels melt away. In that point must we place our hope, for only from that point can we build a better future.

Seven Ways Apple Is Fleecing The American Sheeple

Apple iProducts | Planned Obsolescence | Sheeple | iFlock

How Apple Inc. exploits slave labor and misplaced customer loyalty to maintain a market cap comparable to ExxonMobil and a bank balance on par with Uncle Sam.

If you’re often part of the iFlock we see milling in front of the Apple Store with their eyes and wallets wide open every time Cupertino increments the version or release number of an iProduct, consider this a wake-up call. If as the owner of a struggling small business in desperation you’re about to spend four times as much for a “cool” native iPhone app as you would for a cross-platform Mobile Web app that might do twice as much for three times the market, consider this a warning. And if you’re an Occupy Wall Street protester or supporter reading this on an Apple iPhone, iPad or iMac, we sincerely hope that device was lost or liberated then unlocked and donated for your use. Now let us proceed with our observations of the obvious – in this episode, seven ways Apple Inc. is fleecing the American Sheeple:

1. Sending jobs overseas.

“Foxconn has 300,000 to 450,000 workers which are employed in Shenzhen China at the Longhua Science & Technology Park, a cramped, walled campus sometimes referred to as ‘Foxconn City’ or ‘iPod City’… [They] make everything Apple sells… One has to ask the question: How much less money would Apple make if those 400,000+ manufacturing jobs were based in the USA?… What kind of impact would almost a half a million manufacturing jobs have in the U.S. economy?”

2. Slashing domestic wages.

“Outsourcing [by Apple and other greedy global corporations] has become one of the biggest reasons for our economic decline… The desire of corporations to seek the cheapest labor possible has led to less work for Americans, and a larger disparity between the rich and the poor. Over the last twenty years this gap has grown tremendously, and is fueled further by the fact that Americans now take lower wages in an attempt to remain employed.”

3. Selling iProducts with built-in obsolescence.

“The genius factory that Steve Jobs built is just another oligopoly pushing planned obsolescence [e.g. practically non-replaceable batteries] on a buying public that should know better… There’s only so much market growth a premium electronic product can wring out of the industrialized West, and Apple’s marketers know it. They don’t waste time growing the nonexistent iPad market among African bushmen who live beyond the reach of a WiFi signal. Instead, they know the real money is made from selling tiny improvements to existing customers [a.k.a. Apple Zombies] who just have to show off the latest gizmo to friends.”

4. Avoiding corporate income taxes.

“Apple’s headquarters are in Cupertino, Calif. By putting an office in Reno, just 200 miles away, to collect and invest the company’s profits, Apple sidesteps state income taxes on some of those gains… California’s corporate tax rate is 8.84 percent. Nevada’s? Zero… Setting up an office in Reno is just one of many legal methods Apple uses to reduce its worldwide tax bill by billions of dollars each year… Apple’s accountants have found legal ways to allocate about 70 percent of its profits overseas, where tax rates are often much lower… Apple has created subsidiaries in low-tax places like Ireland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and the British Virgin Islands – some little more than a letterbox or an anonymous office – that help cut the taxes it pays around the world.”

5. Locking in vendors and customers.

“Many consider Apple to be the most vertically integrated company in the world: All Apple hardware and software are designed in-house, and Apple also runs its own digital content store, iTunes, along with the App Store and iBooks store… Apple has consistently [conspired] to limit consumer choice, creating a situation known as “lock in”. As soon as you start buying stuff from Apple, you’ll find it difficult to move to products made by someone else without losing everything you’ve already paid for… [For example, if] you switch to an Android device from an iPhone with iMessage activated, anyone who’s previously been sending you iMessages will no longer be able to send you texts.”

6. Obstructing Open Web development.

“The dominance of Apple and Google mobile browsers is leading to a situation that’s even worse for Web programming than the former dominance of Internet Explorer, a standards group leader warned… Daniel Glazman, co-chairman of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) group overseeing the formatting and effects standard called Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), said that programmers are overlooking other browsers when they use newer CSS features – even when those other browsers support the features. The result is that those other browsers – Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera, chiefly – might have to essentially masquerade themselves as other browsers. When that happens, the ‘Open Web’ – a programming foundation based on cooperatively created standards rather than proprietary features – is being thrown under the bus.”

7. Exploiting and accelerating technological dehumanization.

“Apple is an American success story… At one point this year, Apple had more money in the bank than the United States itself. It is a literal titan of industry… [Apple co-founder Steve Jobs] had no problem conceiving of himself as a counter-culture hero even as he became a cultural titan and business icon. Jobs’ success at presenting the company as counter-cultural, as much as any design intuition, is one of the most enduring and powerful of Apple’s assets. Apple’s success in retail is owed, ostensibly, to the fact that its products create emotional attachments to users. People (sometimes literally) love their iPhones and iPads. This relationship to technology seems dangerous. It’s dangerous because Apple is not in the love business; it’s in the business business. Apple’s goal is to make money – and lots of it… Apple is not run by a group of longhaired hippies, and it’s primary directive is not to save the world.”

Is AT&T U-verse Serving The People Or Fleecing The Sheeple?

ATT Uverse | AT&T U-verse | Screw-U-Verse

Ma Bell was notorous for corporate greed and customer abuse long before Lily Tomlin lampooned her on Laugh-In. And in today’s ATT Screw-U-Verse, the corruption continues.

Those of you still relying on mainstream media for news may be unaware of what Occupy Wall Street and the Global Revolution have planned for Tuesday, May 1 2012:

MSIE users Google this: (occupy AND (“may day” OR mayday)) -site:facebook.com

But for those of you in the Occupy Movement looking for some last-minute May Day recruits, what appears to be a rapidly growing base of disgruntled AT&T U-Verse customers might be a target-rich environment:

MSIE users Google this: (“u-verse” OR uverse) AND (complaint OR complaints OR dissatisfied OR sucks OR sux)

The following is a classic example of how Ma Bell continues to treat her customers like chattel, cattle or worse. We are masking some names, dates and numbers, but everything else is as per the story and supporting documents we received:

A little over two months ago, an AT&T telephone and DSL customer we’ll call “PL” needed a wireless Internet solution for her new tablet computer, so she called the number on her phone bill and eventually wound up speaking to an AT&T sales rep. The rep offered PL an Internet access solution that would support her old notebook as well as her new tablet for $24.95 a month plus a one-time $100.00 modem charge, and promised PL two $100.00 gift cards if she agreed to transfer to the new plan. PL accepted. Installation was scheduled for sometime during the day on March 1X, and PL was told to expect UPS to deliver her new modem “a couple of days” before that. By March 1X-1 no modem had arrived, so PL made a followup call to AT&T. She was assured that UPS would deliver the modem that evening, and that the installation tech was still scheduled to come the next day.

Like many 99 percenters, PL has to work two jobs to pay for the greed of Wall Street and the wars and waste of Washington. She had taken unpaid time off from her day job to be home for the new Internet modem installation, but was hoping to still be able to work that night. By midday no installer had called or come by, so she made another followup call to AT&T. This time – and for the first time – she heard the word “U-verse”, was told she was supposed to either open the box and install the modem herself or pay an additional $160.00, that the technician was coming by to terminate her DSL not install her U-verse, and that she didn’t need to be home for that. That meant PL had sacrificed a day’s pay for nothing – and that AT&T expected a person with absolutely no IT training or experience to install their own cabling, configure a wireless access modem, and activate their own U-verse service!

PL didn’t have “an additional $160.00”, so she opened the box and did her best to follow the complicated instructions inside and configure the modem. It didn’t work. But after holding 20 minutes then spending an hour more talking to an escalation of U-verse support techs, she learned that she had done everything right but the problem was the U-verse activation software did not work with some major web browsers – including hers. The U-verse tech finally activated the service from his end, and began the process of creating an ATT email account for PL. PL told the tech she did not want an ATT email account, and there ended their exchange and – PL thought – her AT&T U-verse installation nightmare.

A few weeks passed, then PL received one of the two $100.00 gift cards AT&T had promised. Coincidentally perhaps, on that same day she received a letter from the AT&T Accounts Receivable Center which scolded and threatened her as follows:

“Did you forget to pay your bill? Our records show that your account balance is $164.95 which includes a past due amount of $164.95… If payment is not received by April 2X, 2012 your AT&T U-verse service may be temporarily disconnected. If your service is temporarily disconnected, in addition to paying all outstanding charges, a restoral fee may apply. The restoral charge is $30 per U-verse product and/or service on your account… For accounts that remain unpaid for ten (10) days after interruption, service will be permanently disconnected.”

PL was shocked. She’d paid every AT&T bill she’d received, so she called the number in the letter – 800.228.2020 – to find out what was going on. It was then she learned from AT&T U-verse’s Lavonne M. (employee number LM154X) that from now on she’d be receiving a U-verse bill separate from her AT&T phone bill, and that the reason she had never seen her U-verse bill was because it was being emailed to the ATT email account she never had access to. PL asked Lavonne M. to break down the $164.95 balance for her, but the only amount PL recognized was the $100.00 modem charge. PL paid that with her $100.00 gift card, and asked if she could wait to pay the remainder until she had a copy of the bill to review. Lavonne M. told her that would be fine, and assured PL that her U-verse service would not be disconnected.

Lavonne M. lied. At just after 8:00am on the morning of April 2X+1, U-verse disconnected PL. She called ATT Uverse and asked to speak to Lavonne M., and was told that “wasn’t possible”. She requested to speak to a supervisor, and after holding several minutes got one and shared her sad story. The supervisor coldly told PL her only option at this point was to pay the $64.95 balance plus a $30.00 reconnect fee. PL refused, and demanded to speak to a manager. She was again told that “wasn’t possible”, but she could leave a number and a manager would call her back. PL did. Six hours later, an AT&T U-verse manager who did not offer her name or direct extension did in fact call PL back. PL told her everything in agonizing detail, based upon which the manager restored PL’s U-verse service so long as PL settled her balance by May 1X. PL agreed, with the stipulation that she would not pay the bill if she did not receive a bill to pay.

Deciding not to wait, that evening PL set out to settle her affairs with ATT Uverse. She called 800.228.2020 and couldn’t get past the bots to a human, so she went online to “chat” with AT&T U-verse support here:

She connected and started chatting with a support rep named Rajma-something whose English was not, in PL’s words, “American”. She said she had a billing issue, and Raj replied he could assist her if she gave him the details. PL typed away. Raj asked questions indicating he did not understand, and PL typed some more. After several exchanges with lengthy delays in between, Raj declared his role was actually Tech Support so he couldn’t help her. PL demanded to chat with Raj’s supervisor. He came online with another “Indian-sounding” name and had PL jump through the same hoops as Raj did before admitting he could do nothing to assist her either. Furious by this time, PL introduced the supposed Indian to some choice American expletives, disconnected and went to bed crying.

The following morning, PL called the 877.288.7973 number “Raj” had given her to track down her second and missing $100.00 gift card. Not surprisingly, it was the wrong number. She then found and called the right number – 800.288.9983 – and connected with the AT&T Rewards Center. Employee number EV2455 checked her account, apologized for their “input error”, and assured PL her second gift card would be on its way “in a few weeks”.

Finally, PL called AT&T U-verse Billing Support yet again to try to find out what the composition of her unpaid balance was. When she did, she was surprised to hear the balance was now $48.00 higher than she’d previously been told, the increment being one more month’s U-verse billing. She advised the billing rep that she’d been sold 6meg Internet service for $24.95 a month, and that she would not pay a penny more. The AT&T rep said that’s not what their records showed, and there was nothing she could do to correct it. PL demanded to speak to a supervisor again, and was placed on hold for several minutes. When someone finally picked up, it was not a supervisor but another billing rep! PL was ready to explode, but instead again declared that she’d been sold 6meg Internet service for $24.95 a month, and that she would not pay a penny more. Unlike the last rep, this one promptly reduced PL’s monthly rate to $24.95 and applied retroactive credits to correct the overbilling, which along with the “un-input” gift card PL now believes was intentional.

What do YOU think, America? Is AT&T U-verse serving the People, or fleecing the Sheeple?

JOBS Act of 2012: Will H.R. 3606 Jumpstart Our Business Startups Or Open The Crowdfunding Fraud Floodgates?

H.R. 3606 | Jobs Act of 2012 | Crowdfunding Fraud Boiler Rooms

Former SEC Chief Accountant warns that the JOBS Act – sponsored by one of the most corrupt Congressmen in Washington – won’t increase employment but will simplify swindling.

U.S. Representative Stephen Fincher (R-TN-8) is a Big Ag businessman whose company has received over $8.9 million in government subsidies (corporate welfare) over the past ten years, a politician flagged but never penalized for federal election law violations by the Federal Election Commission last July, and a legislator the political watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) cites as one of the Most Corrupt Members of Congress:

His latest contribution to the corporate greed pervading our government is sponsorship of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act, HR 3606, which has been passed with massive bipartisan support by both the House and Senate, but was sent back to the House to approve some Senate changes on Thursday (22 March 2012):

As is so often the case in Washington DC, the label on this Pandora’s box says nothing about its true contents. Euphemistically referred to as the “Jobs Act of 2012”, former Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission Lynn E. Turner warns this bill would destroy small investor protections dating back as far as the creation of the SEC itself. “It WON’T create jobs, but it WILL simplify fraud,” Turner said in an interview last week. “This would be better known as the Bucket-Shop and Penny-Stock Fraud Reauthorization Act of 2012.”

Mr. Turner is not alone in his assessment of HR3606. Crooked Congressman Fincher’s summary claims the goal is to “increase American job creation and economic growth by improving access to the public capital markets for emerging growth companies [e.g. crowdfunding],” but President of the North American Securities Adminstrators Association (NASAA) Jack Herstein warns otherwise:

“Expanded access to capital markets for startups and small businesses can be beneficial, but only insofar as investors can be confident that they are protected, that transparency in the marketplace is preserved, and that investment opportunities are legitimate… Small businesses are important to job growth, and to improving the economy. However, by weakening investor protections and placing unnecessary restrictions on the ability of state securities regulators to protect retail investors from the risks associated with smaller, speculative investments, Congress is on the verge of enacting policies that, although intended to strengthen the economy, will in fact only make it more difficult for small businesses to access investment capital.”

Personally, I’d wager that the only jobs created by the JOBS Act of 2012 will be for Wall Street brokers who didn’t meet quota and other con artists pitching worthless penny stocks from telemarketing boiler rooms and Internet scam sites.

Veracity with Tenacity: VVV Public Relations Offers Guerrilla Marketing Revelations To Take Down Corrupt Corporations

VVV Public Relations, Righteous Black PR Firm

In marketing, perception is reality. And in the mainstream media, much of what we see is not real, and much of what is real we don’t see. Where market share is based on market deception, VVV PR can counter with “perception correction”.

George Orwell wrote that “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” That very much describes the value proposition of VVV Public Relations ( VVV PR ), a startup online PR firm headquartered in Miami Florida whose stated mission is to “…apply veracity with tenacity to vanquish the opponents and advance the agendas of the business clients we serve and the social causes we champion.” The “VVV” acronym is short for Veritas Virtual Vengeance, a reference to their new website http://VeritasVirtualVengeance.com also accessible via http://VVVPR.com.

A product of our turbulent times, VVV PR was founded by the veteran online guerrilla marketing consultant and human rights cyberactivist known to many as “IronBoltBruce”. Since last September 17 – the first day of Occupy Wall Street and the global revolutionary movement it has inspired – he and his associates have been providing OWS protesters and supporters with a steady stream of well-researched and referenced exposés disclosing and detailing the who, what, where, when, why and how of dozens of examples of the corporate greed and political corruption – in a word, kleptocracy – that now fuels the fires of discontent expressed by an ever-increasing number of concerned citizens from all parts of the political spectrum. Their postings have also raised awareness of some of the most pressing issues facing America today including NDAA 2012, SOPA/PIPA, EEA, the Keystone XL Pipeline and the fact that we often have tainted if not predetermined election results.

With VVV PR, this social entrepreneur and guerrilla activism enabler now offers that potent base of resources and expertise to businesses, co-ops, collectives and other organizations, movements and groups committed to “doing well by doing good” that would stand to benefit from a truth-telling takedown of corporate competitors engaging in illegal, immoral or unethical activities.

“In theory, free market capitalism is supposed to be a level playing field where informed and willing buyers and sellers succeed or fail based on the profits or losses resulting from their revenues earned and expenses incurred.” IronBoltBruce observed. “But in practice, what we have is crony capitalism: Global corporations pay lobbyists and politicians to write the rules in their favor if they can, and simply defy the rules if they can’t. And although our courts say corporations are ‘persons’, they can treat settlements and penalties for criminal conduct as costs of doing business with no concerns about incarceration or execution to deter illegal actions. In addition, through their puppet politicians they can ghost-write laws that give them subsidies ( a.k.a. corporate welfare ), tax breaks, and the ability to externalize pollution and other social costs. And if despite all those advantages they still lose money, our corporate-controlled government will grant them ‘too big to fail’ status and give them a key to the U.S. Treasury. Would you call that a level playing field?”

VVV PR thinks not. And they’re out to level that field for their clients by using truth-based “perception correction” to alter the buying habits and improve the decisions of consumers misled about products and their producers by mainstream media, subliminal advertising and other forms of “perception deception”.

For example:

  • If you knew that the FDA has declared Cheerios “is not generally recognized as safe and effective for use in preventing or treating hypercholesterolemia or coronary heart disease”, would you still buy it for your family as a “heart-healthy” breakfast alternative ( http://1.usa.gov/vLaiLM )?
  • If you knew that according to InfluenceExplorer.com Ruppert Murdock’s News Corp – parent of Fox News – gave Barack Obama over $380,000 in donations, would you view the endless acrimony between the White House and Fox’s pundits as serious or staged ( http://bit.ly/ooSqP3 )?
  • If you knew that according to NPR.prg and other sources the CDC Director that approved it was then hired by the company that makes it, would you give your children the questionable Merck vaccine Gardasil ( http://n.pr/5J7xGy )?
  • If you knew that according to investigative journalist Edwin Black they willingly assisted Hitler’s Nazi Germany with rounding up the Jews during the Holocaust, would you still do business with IBM ( http://bit.ly/yU4x15 )?

VVV PR thinks not. And they stand ready to deploy an innovative mix of “White Hat Black PR” alternatives to expose terrible truths like these on behalf of clients who are willing and causes that are deserving. Follow them on Twitter @vvvpr.
